Borough wide street sweeping Monday May 15 and Wednesday May 17, 2023. This is weather dependent. Please move vehicles from designated streets when posted. If you have any questions please call the Public Works Dept. at 610-252-7123 ext. #3.

Residents are asked to put leaf piles at the end of their yards by the curb NOT IN THE STREETS, for pick up. Leaves in the catch basins will cause problems drainage problems and potential flooding. The pick up schedule will be posted at the Municipal Building. Please note that this is for leaves only. Sticks, stones, grass clippings, etc. are not permitted. These items can damage the vacuum. The leaf pile will not be picked up items other than leaves are present. Leaf pick-up will continue until the trucks are outfitted for winter maintenance. Tatamy Borough has ordinances pertaining to grass & weeds. 19-1958 and 53-1968: known as the Grass & Weed Ordinances requires all citizens & businesses to keep grass cut below 6 inches. Cut grass is not to be put in the street. Please, do not blow clippings into the streets. This clogs the gutters. Thank you! Removal of clippings is the property owner's responsibility.

The following streets are Designated Snow Routes:
7th, Broad, Chief Tatamy, High, Main, Prospect, Shelley, & Trisha Streets, Alexus, Bridgette, Fern, & Mill Brook Courts & Mill Race Dr.
Please move your vehicles from these streets when a Snow Emergency is called. All vehicles will be towed at the owners expense if they are not moved.
Sidewalk ordinance 20-1924. Sidewalks and gutters must be cleared within 24 hours. In the event of ice, sand or salt should be applied. Please DO NOT place snow / ice in roads, on sidewalks or next to fire hydrants. Any help in keeping the fire hydrants cleared and accessible is greatly appreciated!
Ordinance-150-1990 requires the cleanup of all animal fecal matter. Please think of your neighbors while walking your dog. Clean up after your dogs, carry bags and use them when necessary. Thank you for your help in keeping Tatamy clean!
In accordance with the Tatamy Zoning Ordinance, section 803 Special lot and yard requirements, sight distance and buffer yards, Part C: Sight Distance #1 a trees and shrubs are required to be clear of the roadway and sidewalks. The intent is to ensure that traffic passing through an intersection or turning onto a street can safely see oncoming traffic.
Efective Immediately No Dumping at the Burn Pile behind the Fire Company by order of the Tatamy Volunteer Fire Co. due to the illegal dumping of debris and harmful materials.
Effective January 1, 2022, Tatamy Borough has an intermunicipal agreement with Lower Nazareth Township that allows Tatamy residents to bring their yard debris (twigs, shrubbery, etc.) to 4600 Newburg Road, Nazareth, PA 18064. There is a $25 fee for each load of yard waste. Please don't bring grass clippings or leaves.
